We commit to building within the communities that we serve. Suncity Global is a social enterprise that seeks to provide high quality solar products and services worldwide. We work within the communities we serve by investing in high quality training and education to empower individuals to take advantage of energy access and help them change their lives. For example, premature infant born in a country with unstable access to electricity will often be left to suffer from the dark, in the cold whilst being monitored by flashlight or candlelight. We commit to social causes helping to support medical centres, orphanages, places of education and worship that offer refuge and sources of comfort and support for communities.

590 million people across sub-Saharan Africa live without electricity. When the sun goes down the working day ends for millions of people. For millions of others the only option is to ignite kerosene lamps and paraffin candles, which emit toxic fumes into the earth’s atmosphere. But with the flick of a switch, we can change that story. Every solar light in someone’s hand is an instant win for people and the planet.
Our mission is to help fund the solarization of madrassahs in The Gambia to assist the children of today in hoping for a brighter future enabling them to further their education. Having witnessed first hand the plight and vulnerability of the some of the communties in The Gambia, it became a strong desire to help rebuild the lives of the most vulnerable and often forgotten people through something as simple as proving renewable energy solutions. Without access to clean, renewable energy, the communities we work with are left even more vulnerable to the effects of climate change. But, there is a simple solution that creates instant impact – solar power. We believe that every madrassah across The Gambia should have access to clean, safe, solar powered light and electricity.
Our research has shown us that in societies where the means to an education is provided and encouraged, the benefits of education do not just serve individuals and their families but society at large. Faith is a vital part of life for many of these vulnerable people, helping to bond communities and inspire personal development. We understand just how important faith is, which is why we are committed to empowering future generations through the provision of Qur’anic education.
Together this mission of solarising madrassas across The Gambia would be light work!
